William F. Gabbert Jr., DO. 

 

Biography:

Dr. Gabbert graduated from Cactus High School in 1985 and then joined the US Army at the age of 18 as a Combat Medic and served 4 years on active-duty in the Infantry in Garlstedt, Germany and Fort Hood, Texas.

After leaving active-duty in 1989, Dr. Gabbert attended pre-med at Glendale Community College and Arizona State University, while continuing to serve in the US Army Reserve.

 

Dr. Gabbert attended medical school at Midwestern University and graduated in 2000. He then transferred into the Arizona Army National Guard as a physician.

 

After medical school, Dr. Gabbert completed his family medicine residency at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix in 2003, while continuing to serve in the Arizona National Guard.

After completing residency, Dr. Gabbert was called to active-duty and completed a tour in Bagram, Afghanistan in 2004, and then a second tour in Ramadi, Iraq in 2006. Dr. Gabbert retired from the Arizona National Guard in 2009. 

Dr. Gabbert re-joined the US Army Reserve and was called back to active-duty for stateside mobilizations in 2010 and 2014. He retired for a second time from the Army after 30 years of service in 2015.

 

Dr. Gabbert currently devotes his time to his family, running Valley Urgent Care and to his numerous hobbies which include traveling, classic cars, playing guitar and enjoying life.

 

Dr. Gabbert is Board Certified by The American Board of Family Medicine.
